How powerful is data architecture? Read this post from our CEO, Jennifer Schivas-Porter, to find out. TLDR: Very powerful indeed. #DataArchitecture #BusinessIntelligence #B2BPublishing
We enjoy unlocking the full potential of data. Recently, we partnered with a global market intelligence company to overhaul their aging data infrastructure. They had a treasure trove of valuable numerical and textual data, but it was trapped in an outdated, rigid system. The antiquated technology hindered product innovation and made data transformation and publication labour-intensive and error-prone. After identifying the most critical issues and high-value opportunities, we reimagined their data store and model, migrating their valuable data into a flexible, component-based architecture. ❓Ok, so I get that data architecture might sound dull... why is this worth talking about ❓ Rearchitecting data may not be on the wish list of many company boards, but the things that came next - driving revenue through new product development, licensing deals, partnerships, retention and delivering customer value - certainly are... With a clean, scalable data architecture in place, we've been able to offer their customers: 🚀 A relaunched flagship product that includes self-service data visualization, enhanced forecasting capabilities, and scenario planning tools. 🔗 Seamless API delivery, integrating directly into customers' workflows, making their data more directly actionable and useful and shoring up renewals. 🎁 Greater flexibility in data packaging, opening new revenue streams from previously free content. 🧠 A foundation for large language models to better interpret, and extract predictive insights from their corpus. 🌐 Expanding data sets and exploring potential new verticals and acquisitions. The process from discovery, build, to launch of the first wave of new tools and services took less than a year - time very well spent!

It's all very well aiming for simplicity - but how do you actually achieve it? Take a look at this article from Principal, Solutions Architect, Richard Brown with his top tips on ensuring you don't fall into the complexity trap.
