    Racism and Islamophobia have no place in any workplace, and no place in society. Yet, we all have colleagues, friends, and families who are battling prejudice and bigotry every single day –  with the violent riots in the UK over the past week a stark reminder of how far we still have to go as a country. Reach out and check in with your Black and Brown colleagues. Make sure they know you are here to support them, and listen when they tell you how they are feeling and what they need. To understand more about the impact of the current violence and how you can help the Black and Brown people in your organisation, we’d highly recommend yesterday’s informative webinar from Elliott Rae and Aggie Yemurai Mutuma FCIPD, which gave us lots to think about.

Violent and Islamophobic riots have taken place across the country, leaving many people feeling stressed, scared, anxious, and confused about how to feel or respond. Leadership teams and People teams are striving to do the right thing by their teams and are seeking guidance on how to navigate this challenging period. It’s a tough time for everyone, and we need to come together with empathy and understanding.
