We do it for you. A message we’ve been using at Paddle to talk about how as a Merchant of Record we handle your payments, taxes, subscription management, and more. And “do it for you” doesn’t mean we give you the tools to do it. We do it. → Handle the currency conversion. → Fight the chargeback. → Pay the taxes. Over to Philip Watson for this one. He takes a closer look at how we handle your taxes ⤵️

Helping PLG SaaS grow globally at Paddle 🚀

Still processing the whirlwind that was gamescom, Cologne last week 🌪️👾 Ollie Julien and I had a blast meeting so many fantastic publishers, developers, studios and tech companies. And special thanks to Karlo Eldic who helped me 'decode' the industry jargon (I have to say rakija is not my drink 😆) We even got to try out some amazing new games in the entertainment hall (though there was a lot of button-mashing on my part 🤪) It's great to see the gaming industry embracing the #MerchantofRecord model that Paddle operates under (same model as the App Store). If you haven't already, check out our new guide, 'Growth Beyond the App Store' (link in the comments) 👇🏻 It explores how selling your app on the web isn’t just about avoiding app store fees—it’s about gaining the freedom to leverage a direct-to-consumer model. This allows you to reach a larger audience, enhance marketing efforts, and experiment with various monetisation strategies 🚀 The guide covers everything you need to know about creating a web-based revenue stream, including: 🕸️ A full breakdown of the three key web monetisation strategies: Web2App, Web Store and Hybrid. ✅ Expert tips to choose the right web strategy for your app, along with a comparison of the tools to support it. 💰 Data-backed insights on pricing and payments to drive higher-value purchases and reduce churn. If you're looking to monetise your games or consumer apps via a web store, drive acquisition with a Web2App funnel, or explore a hybrid strategy, I’d love to chat. Drop me a message! #webstore #monetisation #gaming #app2web #growth #acquisition #app

You invest a lot in your business. Capital, endless hours, and all that brainpower. 😅 Every dollar spent on customer acquisition? It’s an investment in your future. To win, you need to know your CAC. Inside out. It helps you set the right goals. Cover losses. Drive profit. Here’s how to calculate it: 📊 CAC = Total expenses to acquire customers / Total customers acquired 📌 This formula seems simple, but errors can creep in. Here's a quick look at 3 common mistakes that can distort your CAC: 1. Ignoring non-ad acquisition costs. 2. Overlooking total marketing expenses. 3. Including non-paying users in CAC. → Aim for a 3:1 ratio of CLV to CAC. Knowing your CAC is the key to hitting that target. Calculate your CAC correctly and lay the groundwork to master your SaaS metrics and build your company's success.

The first half of 2024 saw slowed B2B growth but increased stability. So, what's in store for the rest of the year? 🤔 → We're forecasting a growth rate of 11% CAGR for B2B and 8% CAGR for B2C - at least until the end of the year. 👇 To capitalize, remember: 1/ Focus on your current customers for growth. 2/ Monitor key metrics closely. 3/ Expand by selling globally. Chaos engineering intentionally introduces controlled chaos into a process. Why? To help you identify weaknesses and increase the resilience of the system you're testing. Here’s how to do it. → Steady state Identify all the dependencies between your services at their steady state. → Hypothesis Develop different hypotheses about potential issues in an unplanned state. → Run the experiment Prepare and execute your experiment in a controlled environment, like development or staging. → Verify Compare the behaviour displayed with the initial hypotheses you presented. → Improve Create an improvement plan based on any unexpected behaviours the chaos test resulted in.
