Last month Sally Wynn-Jones attended the ALPSP Publishing in China webinar which delved into the opportunities, challenges and uniqueness of China’s #STM #publishing - chaired by Zhao Chai from KeAi Publishing and Helene Stewart from Clarivate. Key takeaways include: ✅ China’s ‘excellence action plan' - the main purpose being to further enhance the impact of Chinese journals, build up groups of journals with diverse capabilities and establish domestic digital platforms for journal operations. ✅ Guidelines on the Code of Conduct for responsible research and research integrity - written by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation of China respectively. ✅ Chinese researchers are power users of Web of Open Science , Scopus Journal Publications and Dimensions - where researchers outside of China might start with Google, Chinese researchers will go to the specialist databases when looking for literature or domain specific databases such as Pubmed Science.
