What we know about three children who went missing at Thorpe Park

Three children who went missing after a day out at Thorpe Park have been found.

The children, Khandi, 14, Amelia, 9, and Malik, 7, were at the theme park in Chertsey, Surrey, on Monday. They were reported missing at 7pm.

Here is what we know - and don't know - about what happened.

What we know

Surrey Police said in a statement: "They were all known to each other, and the two youngest children are related.

"They had been at the park on a planned day out and had travelled to Surrey from Milton Keynes.

"They were last seen walking away from the park towards Chertsey town centre around 3.17pm."

After being reported missing at 7pm on Monday, they were found "safe and well in London" on Tuesday.

Thorpe Park said in a statement: “As soon as our staff were alerted that three children were missing after a day at the park, they immediately implemented well-rehearsed safety procedures. The team worked closely with Surrey Police and CCTV footage confirmed that the children had left the attraction."

What we don't know

Thorpe Park said the children were accompanied by an adult, but we don't know how they came to be separated.

Surrey Police said of the children being found: "We appreciate the concern that this incident caused, especially given the children’s ages and the fact that they were missing overnight.

“Our officers and staff have worked tirelessly to locate the three of them and we are all relieved that they have been found safe.

“We have received a huge amount of information and information and support from both the public and the media and we would like to thank everyone who provided information and shared our appeal."
