Islam in Italy today is the second largest religion in the country, with 2 million and half of the faithful, of which over one million with Italian citizenship. A stable, permanent presence, albeit a minority, but a part of public opinion considers not compatible with society. This research, carried out on a sample of over three hundred Muslims, presents the main instances that the Islamic minority expresses and the issues with which it is to relate to. Religion, identity, Islamophobia: Religion, identity, Islamophobia: along these three issues will pass the "normalization" process that the Italian State and the Islamic communities will have to face together
Il quadro che ne emerge è quello di un “piccolo” Islam su scala, multietnico e multinazionale, composto da oltre centomila soggetti e quaranta nazioni: una comunità di fedeli, la umma, molto eterogenea a causa di fattori etnici e culturali. La presente ricerca mira a fornire al lettore una “bussola” su un tema complesso, che coinvolge aspetti sociali, urbanistici, religiosi e identitari.

how is it possible to practice sports for Muslims without breaking the prescriptions of their faith? Through an analysis of the sources of Islamic law and of various authors who have dealt with these topics, I tried to answer these questions, in order to trace a sort of "Islamic vision" of sport. In addition, a brief analysis of the problems that Muslims, especially as regards women, are faced with when they decide to practice sports in Western contexts.

all possible problems that could lead to social conflicts with the natives.
precisely with respect to this question, scholars from various humanistic
disciplines - sociologists, psychologists, anthropologists, pedagogues - havebegun to consider sport a potential factor of social integration (BortolettoN., Michelini E., Porrovecchio A. 2021), for a series of intrinsic positive values that sport potentially would have, and that could favor the processes of social inclusion of minorities, whether ethnic or religious. However, in the case of the category we are considering here, that is Muslim women in Western diasporic contexts, it is legitimate to ask whether sport always represents a form of social inclusion
The Islamic communities, initially composed mainly of immigrants, then began to settle in the peripheral areas of the city, due to the low cost of the rentals. Subsequently, over the years, in the neighborhoods / areas of greater Muslim "concentration", several 'spontaneous' places of worship and a whole series of activities (ethnic shops, cultural centers, etc.) arose which in fact transformed some social-urban traits of cities. The case of Rome is exemplary, where there are about 140,000 Muslims and 5% of all residents in the capital, but half of whom are concentrated in three municipalities (I, V and VI), in which there are urban areas that over time have seen a series of changes to their urban spaces.
