[en] The locus a nomine and its function in Latin literature: further considerations about the topos concept Abstract. Continuing with our proposal in previous contributions (2000, 2006) to reformulate the concept of literary topos, we now deal with the so-called locus a nomine. After referring to its Aristotelian definition and briefly recalling its forensic application and some of its main Latin literary manifestations, we analyze the main characteristics of its habitual behavior as a topic (nomen omen, res ex nomine) and as an anti-topic.
The controversy surrounding the meaning of «puntar» in a famous stanza from the 'Libro de buen amor' (70b) could perhaps be better resolved by also considering a passage from Jacobus of Liège’s 'Speculum musicae' (I 17) in which, basing on Isidore, appear some similar concepts to those expressed by the Archpriest.
texto traducible.
We briefly discuss some difficult passages from these Ciceronian works, and we examine more recent criticism in order to provide an intelligible text.
century), famous for including the “glosas emilianenses” (10th-11th
century), contains in fols. 64r-67r an Interrogatio de nobissimo, a
short millenarian text which is presented as the prophecy of a bishop
named Alexander to the king Aristotle. Our article offers some
hypotheses about this invention, relating it to the pseudo-Aristotelian
epistolary tradition; it also attempts to insert the prophecy into the
literary tradition of the Pseudo-Methodius, the Apocalypse of Daniel,
the Visio Pauli, the Tiburtine Sibyl and some related texts, as well as
in a possible Islamic context (Dajjal's description).
Abstract. The Aristotelianism of Gonzalo Pétrez is analyzed and how this philosophical interest was expressed in collecting his personal library (inventoried in the years 1273 and 1280). Special attention is also paid to the ideological and cultural background which underlies his patronage activity.

Pese

After a brief consideration of the main linguistic
features of the medieval 'uetus translatio' of Aristotle’s
'De insomniis', including a collation of the old
manuscript Oxford, Bodleian Library, Digby 103,
our paper tries to explain from a stemmatic point of
view the peculiarities and the most probable provenance
of the Greek model of this translation, by
paying attention to some new observations on the
manuscripts Vat. Gr. 253 and Marc. Gr. 214. We
review the arguments of Drossaart Lulofs concerning
the authorship of the 'noua translatio' and we
examine some aspects of the wording of Moerbeke’s
recognitio.
Although the respective textual transmissions
of Virgil’s Aeneid and Ovid’s Metamorphoses
share some similarities, there
are also some clearly distinctive features,
which allow us to qualify them as ‘asymmetric’
textual traditions. However, this does not imply that a specific methodological approach must be adopted in order
to study the textual variation in each tradition,
nor to establish each text.
This paper provides a brief and provisional analysis of the presence of Aristotle in the
complete literary works of Alphonse of Cartagena, since its beginnings (ca. 1422) until
its end. We have tried to define more precisely the previously identified citations and to
identify additional ones; secondly, we have tried to explore Cartagena's use of the
existing Latin translations. Finally, we offer a general perspective of Cartagena's
aristotelianism and its evolution.
