ABSTRAK Berdasarkan kepada pola enrolment pengambilan pelajar ke Kolej Komuniti, masih terdapat lagi Kolej Komuniti yang tidak mencapai norma pengambilan pelajar. Bagi meningkatkan enrolmen pengambilan pelajar, Kolej Komuniti telah menambah bilangan pengambilan pelajarnya dari dua kali kepada tiga kali setahun iaitu dari sesi Januari dan Julai kepada sesi Mac, Julai dan Januari setiap tahun. Kajian ini dijalankan untuk melihat implikasi pengambilan tiga kali setahun terhadap enrolmen pengambilan pelajar di Kolej Komuniti Selandar. Kajian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan kaedah analisa dokumen dan temubual bertulis menggunakan teknik SW.O.T. Data pengambilan pelajar dari Unit Pengambilan, Kolej Komuniti Selandar dianalisa secara deskriptif. Manakala temubual bersama pengarah, timbalan pengarah akademik, timbalan pengarah pengurusan, pegawai pengambilan dan empat orang ketua program dianalisa berdasarkan tema. Hasil analisis menunjukkan pola peningkatan enrolmen pengambilan pelajar bagi pelaksanaan pengambilan tiga kali setahun dari tahun 2014 hingga 2016 berbanding pengambilan dua kali setahun menunjukkan pola penurunan dari tahun 2008 hingga 2010. Dari segi pola enrolmen pengambilan pelajar berdasarkan program menunjukkan pengambilan yang tinggi bagi pengambilan Julai berbanding pengambilan Mac dan November. Berdasarkan hasil analisa, pihak pengurusan kolej ingin mengekalkan sesi pengambilan tiga kali setahun iaitu pada sesi Mac, Julai dan November. However, initial study found the lack of soft skills issue among Malaysian Polytechnic graduates causing the students to face unemployment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of Online Project Based Collaborative Learning (OPBCL) model in enhancing students’ soft skills. This study involves both qualitative and quantitative methods. Currently, Malaysia has more than 600 higher education institutes that offers hundreds of courses for secondary school leavers. This scenario however, has led to issues such as competition on student’s enrollment. Since its establishment in 2001, aside from full-time program for SPM leavers, Community College has also offers short courses under Lifelong Learning Department. Selandar Community College has been facing an enrollment issues since its operation 15 years ago. Qualitative approach through document analysis which focuses on secondary data is being used in this study. KKSL 2017’s enrollment data and short courses data are being analyze descriptively using Full Time Equivalent Students (FTES) formula. Interaction is the success factors that support online learning pedagogy that can enhanced the learning and teaching process, increased students’ satisfaction and learning outcomes. This paper reviewed empirical studies on interaction in online learning. In order to achieve the aim, the study was conducted qualitatively in the form of document review study. Conclusively, there were three common types of interaction that have been cited frequently in the literature: Learner–learner, learner–instructor and learner–content. However, this study embedded the collaboration theory where learners take full responsibility to their learning with instructor guide. Therefore, the interaction between learner–learner and learner–instructor should be emphasized.

Interest in collaboration is a natural outgrowth of the trend in education toward active learning. Many researchers have found that the advantages of collaborative learning; improves academic performance, promotes soft skills development (i.e., communications, collaboration, problem-solving and critical thinking skills), and increases satisfaction in the learning experience. Nevertheless, several studies have reported the complete opposite. In that respect, based on previous findings, three elements that are involved in the effectiveness of Online Collaborative Learning Environments are; Learning Environment, Learning Task, and Learning Interaction. Berdasarkan kepada pola enrolment pengambilan pelajar ke Kolej Komuniti, masih terdapat lagi Kolej Komuniti yang tidak mencapai norma pengambilan pelajar. Bagi meningkatkan enrolmen pengambilan pelajar, Kolej Komuniti telah menambah bilangan pengambilan pelajarnya dari dua kali kepada tiga kali setahun iaitu dari sesi Januari dan Julai kepada sesi Mac, Julai dan Januari setiap tahun. Kajian ini dijalankan untuk melihat implikasi pengambilan tiga kali setahun terhadap enrolmen pengambilan pelajar di Kolej Komuniti Selandar. Berdasarkan hasil analisa, pihak pengurusan kolej ingin mengekalkan sesi pengambilan tiga kali setahun iaitu pada sesi Mac, Julai dan November.

In the 21st century, educators are utilising emerging technologies to develop not only knowledge of graduates, but also their soft skills in order to enhance competencies parallel with an employer’s requirements. Collaborative learning has been proven in promoting soft skills development. However, the feedback from employers is the opposite. It shows that collaboration does not happen naturally in a group. In previous studies, researchers have identified factors and elements needed to develop effective collaborative online learning and proposed an Online Collaborative Project based Collaborative Learning (OPBCL) model. In this study, based on OPBCL model, a prototype is designed using the ADDIE model. To carry out the study, the prototype needs to work properly. Therefore, Alpha, Beta, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) must be conducted. This study also will show the process of testing to ensure the functionality of a prototype when running the actual study. The results are expected to show that the prototype is ready to be tested in the actual study. It is hoped that this study will give much significance to other researchers regarding the importance of conducting UAT of the prototypes developed prior to the research study.
