Through the study of Jafudà Bonsenyor’s book Llibre de paraules e dits de savis e filòsofs, a clear example of the late thirteenth-century literary interest in Arabic tradition at the Catalan court of Jaume II, this paper analyzes the sources of the book and how the works of Jafudà Bonsenyor were used and transmitted afterwards in eight manuscripts that partially or totally reproduce it. The paper also looks at Bonsenyor’s influence in other authors, scrutinizes commentaries made on his texts, as well as identifies confusions and intentional or unintentional misreadings. Finally, the article describes the various translations of his works and uncovers others that mistakenly pretended to be so.
