So I have this hc for the movieverse:
Shadow visits sonic's house when he feels unwell, bewildered or lost. It is an involuntary action of seeking comfort when he needs it most. It has been repeated several times, and each time, Shadow becomes more comfortable with physical contact or small talk, but even so, he has yet to explain to Sonic what keeps him awake at night.

About commissions, there's a chance that I open some spots this month, it isn't a sure thing but I will keep y'all updated on my ig stories and broadcast channel

Annnnd that's why I think Tom won't die (by Shadow's fault directly)
Sonic and Shadow are not going to become "friends", there lies the charm of their relationship!
Rivals who friendly compete, they can count on the other if they need to. Both constantly badmouth each other, but deep inside, shines respect and genuine admiration for each other skills. I even think they project onto each other what they themselves lack.
Just because they are opposites doesn't mean that they don"t belong together, it is precisely this comparison of "two sides of the same coin".
This "truce" they maintain of "I can't stand you, but let's still spend an afternoon together running around" cannot develop if Shadow kills Tom. Sonic can't forgive something like that, it wouldn't make sense.
The comparison I made in my last comic with Knuckles is different, because Knuckles didn't kill Longclaw, he was a kid when it happened.
This's just my opinion

I've seen people making their theories about the movie. Tom dying doesn't look very possible to me.... but I really, really want Sonic to lose control, because I think he needs to.
Many say "but sonic wouldn't act that way".
We have to understand that the Sonic and Shadow from the movie universe are different from the "modern canonical line"
This Sonic we have lost a mother to a war, then was isolated for 10 years living in the wild. He found Tails, Knuckles and his new family, but his past is still there, it's part of him.
He appreciates his family because he knows what is to have nothing, to lose everything.
Same for Shadow. From what we saw in the trailer, he's going to be there with Gerald when Maria dies, it looks like they're going in a different direction and Shadow won't be thrown into a capsule the moment she gets shot.
How will this affect his character? How blinded by revenge will Shadow be? What role will Gerald play in this? Will he use him as a weapon, setting aside the original purpose of the shadow project? (to be used for medicine)
How willing is this Shadow to stop and listen?
