Everybody gotta cut loose

Well, you wanted it so here it is, Kath and Kel on Dancing with the Stars. As the top couple of the Jazzy B Dance Troupe from Bonbeach, these two did everything from the El Paso Doble to Footloose to a bit of the Tango. Naturally they scored a standing ovation from the audience. And then, the judges got in on the act… sort of….

Clip goes for 9.30 minutes.

Whichever Producer decided the judges should mark them as genuine contestants was a miscalculation, and it left a somewhat disappointing note to an otherwise hilarious appearance. They really should have just enthused (as Sonia Kruger did) and left the comedy to the two experts. Can we see the Darren Hayes’ Insatiable routine next time?

I thought Paul Mercurio was excellent with his comments … Daryl is the one who needs to shut his mouth and stop trying to dance!

I totally agree David..You could tell deep down “Kath” wasn’t pleased..I thought it was embarrassing they way they marked them so low..Just proves the judges know nothing about comedy..Their remarks made me ctinge and spoilt the fun of the segment

When it comes to all-time staggering pointlessness - you can’t go past a comedy skit on DWTS!

I used to like DWTS, but this year’s line up of “stars” has not inspired me to tune in this year, and this kind of pointless cross-promoting drivel doesn’t improve things.

DWTS must be in trouble if they are resorting to this kind of nonsense to pull an audience. Are the sharks circling…?

I certainly hope the sharks are circling…DWTS is the epitome of vacuous tv.

Sonya Kruger reminded me why I love her. She was the only one who knew how to keep it light and funny. Such a shame. Paul Mercurio almost got there but just missed.

I agree David. The whole segment went flat the moment the judges got involved. They should have just gone with the pretence - 4 perfect 10’s would have been nice!!

Todd really is taking his Kyle/Dicko impersonations too far.

It was hilarious until the judges got involved. They really spoiled what was otherwise an extremely funny and memorable tv moment.
