Law of the land drama for SBS.

Actor Aaron Pedersen will soon feature in a new, high-profile drama on SBS, The Circuit.

Set in the Kimberley region, Pedersen will star as a city lawyer working as part of a travelling legal team of the Aboriginal Legal System. Gary Sweet appears as a Magistrate, who, together with court officers, embarks on five-day outback trips to rural communities. Pedersen's character will find himself challenged by his cultural past against his contemporary upbringing.

Shot in remote areas of North Western Australia, the drama will touch upon sensitive subjects including racism, child abuse and homosexuality. The WA outback will feature prominently as a stunning backdrop to the storylines.

Following the success of RAN: Remote Area Nurse, the cast is also supported by non-actors drawn from bush communities.

It premieres 9:30pm Sunday July 8.
