Cancelled: Pirate Master

And this time it's not just in Australia.

CBS has cancelled Pirate Master - effective immediately.

There are five more episodes of the reality series due to air in the US, but they have been pulled from the schedule entirely.

Now they can only be seen via internet.

In theory TEN could still screen the eps in the lacklustre Sunday afternoon timeslot it has shifted to this week.

In "reality" why would it bother?

At the Simpsons Movie

Will David say "doh"?

Will Margaret gnash her teeth and moan?

Just what will television's most beloved movie critics think of The Simpsons Movie when it premieres this week?

We'll have to wait until August 1 to find out.

The two won't get to cross swords on the good folk of Springfield until then, clearly being made to wait like the rest of us!

Other films for next week include License To Wed, Farce Of The Penguins, Inside Paris, and a package on the Brisbane International Film Festival.

Rove should get himself a healthy audience from this profile appearance!

Top wins for Monday

Some interesting results from Monday's viewing.

Neighbours passed the 1m mark with its much-hyped "6.30 change." TEN will be delighted with this.

Australian Story's emotional profile of Belinda Emmett scored a huge 1.4m viewers. Meanwhile Border Security continues to rise, now at 1.9m while Surf Patrol slipped to just under 1.5m viewers, no doubt losing ground to the ABC.

And as Top Gear (829,000) enjoys alternative audiences, it was a slim 1,000 viewers behind Nine's 20 to 1 (830,000) which was a big loser on the night. The SBS show is having its best ever season as viewers illustrate a frustration with commercial offerings. If not for Australian Story SBS probably would have beaten Nine.
