[SBS/8:30pm] Cutting Edge: Kidnapped By The CIA – In the wake of 9/11 the USA has pulled out all stops to combat global terrorism. This documentary examines a particular aspect of this war on terror, the illegal kidnapping of European citizens by the CIA, and their detention and even torture on foreign soil. After Washington declared all-out war on terrorism, Europe became a happy hunting ground for the CIA. Did Europe know what was going on? Did European governments lend a helping hand? This documentary looks at why the European Parliament has set up a committee of inquiry that will spend six months probing the actions of the US secret service and its European counterparts in their “war on terror.” Forty-six parliament members have agreed to let a CAPA film crew follow along and document their enquiry. [SBS/10:00pm] Hot Docs: The Five Obstructions – In this film, Lars von Trier enters the world of documentary film making with Danish documentary film veteran Jorgen Leth. Together, Leth and Von Trier take on the task of challenging conventional ways of documentary and film production. In 1967 Jorgen Leth made a 12 minute short film called The Perfect Human, a document on human behaviour containing the familiar Leth themes – a film which von Trier admired greatly and claimed to have seen more than 20 times. In the year 2000 Lars von Trier challenged Jorgen Leth to make 5 remakes of this film, using Dogma rules of filmmaking. Each time von Trier put forward obstructions, constraining Leth to rethink the story and the characters of the original film from 1967. Playing the naïve anthropologist, Leth attempts to embrace the cunning challenges set forth by the devious and sneaky von Trier. Five times Leth has to deal with the limitations, commands and prohibitions made by von Trier. It becomes a game full of traps and vicious turns. The Five Obstructions is an investigative journey into the phenomenon of film making. (From Denmark, in Danish and English, English subtitles) M (L,S,A) CC WS

Seriously, make us an offer.

Psst. Wanna buy Network TEN?

Couple of Canadians will take a few cans of tuna and some maple syrup as a first down payment!

The Network is in good nick, and would make a great 21st present to that son or daughter. Plenty of music, Simpsons, American teen dramas (even a few you haven't seen aired yet). Will throw in Jackie O for good measure.

The only catch is you have to take a whole lot of pink custard that the Canadians thought would make a great Family Double Dare all those years ago, and now they are rotting in the back cupboard.

If you're really serious, then seriously look here.

Nine stops another drama.

Channel Nine for goodness sake please stop hitting the Stop button!

As reported earlier there are now no more Nip / Tuck episodes scheduled. The network has confirmed there are no further dates for the remaining 8 episodes.

The series (which was over a year old by the time it screened) has effectively stopped mid-season. This means viewers are left hanging by the mystery of the show's serial killer, The Carver.

In the US, the season finale was the highest-rated drama on the FX Channel.

Stopping the series is a bit like not resolving Who Shoot JR, or dropping Summer Bay's Stalker mid-air.

After the treatment Nine gave to The West Wing, The Sopranos and Six Feet Under it's unacceptable. Why ask viewers to bond with a show just to leave them dangling? Have Nine executives even been aware there is a serial killer mystery underscoring the entire third series?

To quote part of the show, "Tell me what you don't like about" Nine.
