Ralph TV on Nine

Just when you thought Blokesworld had disappeared from our screens, it's lovechild is coming: Ralph TV.

Yes this wondrous piece of entertainment will be seen on Nine Thursday nights right after The Footy Show. Figures.

Eddie, is this one of your legacies you spoke about?

Ralph, in case you hadn't realised, is a busty PBL magazine, for men with a short attention span. The lovely Jordanna here is one of this month's feature essays. Other articles in this month's mag include a "special tribute to breasts, that part of a woman that we blokes develop a special bond with early in our lives and never really get over, a chat with Sam Newman, cars none of us can afford, our $1 hugs campaign and of course 'babes galore.'"

Clearly, advertorial television is getting out of control. Will those anti-BB family protestors be writing to Helen Coonan over this one?

To be hosted by Austereo's Craig Lowe, the show is described as one of Australia's favourite magazines come to life as a weekly TV show full of pranks, stunts, babes, silliness and yes, even some very useful information. Hosted by Craig "Lowie" Lowe with the help of the girls from RALPH magazine. RALPHTV brings all the livewire energy of the best blokes in the country to the small screen.

Can't hardly wait for that one.

Ralph TV premieres 11:15pm Thu June 7 on Nine.

Just a quick note to clarify my Comments Policy on the site.

All submitted comments await approval before being published.

Comments are not edited, but published in full. Therefore if there is any statement which I view as crossing a line there is the chance it may not be published.

I'm pretty liberal with the exchange of ideas and opinions, including those that disagree with me, but as the internet is rife with anonymous slagging off, or statements that are defamatory, I'm not interested in hosting a site that participates in sledging... so please be mindful of comments made. One thoughtless phrase can render an entire comment unpublishable.

Similarly if your post is just an anonymous, derogatory comment then it may not be published.

If a post has a link to a non-TV related site it may not be approved. It's the only way to minimise people pushing their own irrelevant agenda.

Comments considered Spoilers will not be published.

Gallery: Little Britain's Neighbours!

And here are your first photos of Little Britain's Andy and Lou on Neighbours!

When Matt Lucas and David Walliams were in Melbourne for their tour they filmed a short scene inside the Scarlett Bar at Erinsborough. Lucas also shot a scene for Kath & Kim's upcoming series too.

By the look of these other pics seems like everyone wanted to get in on the act.

It isn't the first time Brit celebrities have wanted to visit Ramsay Street. Who remembers the cameo by Chris Lowe of The Pet Shop Boys driving down the street? Hilarious.

The Neighbours episode goes to air at 6:30pm on Thursday June 14 on TEN.

Molloy's second Nation

Mick Molloy will get his second shot at his own show on the Nine Network when The Nation premieres at 9:30pm Tuesday June 5.

Last time Molloy had his own Nine show he urinated on the set (hilarious).

Since then the comedian has had success with his film Crackerjack and last year released Boytown. So has he mellowed?

Molloy has shot at least two audience-attended pilots with other comics like Stephen Curry and Fifi Box, but some rumours suggest Box has not signed to the show.

Nine describes the show as:

The Nation - a topical news-based comedy programme that takes a humorous look at the week's events. Host Mick Molloy will be joined at the newsdesk by a semi-regular roster of some of Australia's finest comic talent as they take apart politics, current events, sports and entertainment.

Nine hunts for 5:30 Bargain.

Is David Dickinson the man who can do what Bert couldn't - beat Andrew O'Keefe?

Dickinson hosted Bargain Hunt, a game-show where collectors run amok in car-boot sales.

The British show started in 2000 and Dickinson's flamboyant hosting style saw him become a cult figure. A night-time version was launched afterwards but has since concluded.

Bargain Hunt will follow Antiques Roadshow at 5pm.

Wikipedia describes the format as: Two teams (the Reds and the Blues), both made up of two people, are given £300 (originally £200) each. With each accompanied by an antiques trade expert, the two teams each buy three lots of items from bric-a-brac sales and attempt to make their money back (or more) by auctioning them off. The participants keep any profit they make, and since 2004 "golden gavel" trophies are awarded to any team which makes a profit on all three of their items.

Dickinson's fame came from presenting the game show Bargain Hunt on the BBC. The show had a cult following in the United Kingdom, largely among students and the unemployed, owing to its daytime slot. A weekly evening slot, added later, brought him to the attention of a wider public.

Dickinson was replaced by Tim Wonnacott from 2003.

There is the possibility that as a programming move it is a temporary one. There are rumours of Temptation moving to 5:30pm and even Eddie at 7pm is now a real possibility.

Nine needs Bargain Hunt to work and give its News a stronger lead-in.

Bargain Hunt premieres 5:30pm Monday June 4

King takes cable Crown

Preliminary audience estimates for TV1's screening of The King came in at a bumper 176,900. By Pay TV standards this is an excellent result.

In comparison the top show on cable last week was the NRL Storm v Bulldogs at 170,000.

Figures for Love My Way's last season premiere were 57,136 for the first screening, then 20,000 and 18,000 in first week re-screenings. Significantly, aired on the Showtime Channel which is only available as part of Foxtel's top shelf packages.

By comparison TV1 is available on all packages.

The big audience on subscription TV certainly augurs well for the Nine Network's screening of the biopic due later this year.

The peak for The King over two audiences was actually 511,000 making the show the second-highest non-sports show on Pay TV ever.

TV1 produced the telemovie as part of the local content quotas that are required of subscription TV.
