Returning: ER

After a long recovery from schedule surgery, ER is finally returning to Nine.

"Bloodline" from Series 13 will air at 9:30pm on Monday August 6. It aired in the US nearly a year ago.

The show will replace current repeats of CSI.

Guests this series include Forrest Whitaker, Sally Field, John Stamos and Stanley Tucci.

In Sydney and Queensland a double episode will premiere, but Victoria's Footy Classified will stay at 10:30pm.

Duchovny and Cartwright for Rove

Rove has added David Duchovny and Nancy Cartwright to his programme this Sunday.

They join previously announced guests Rahda Mitchell, Michael Vartan and Good Charlotte.

This week the show beams from Hollywood.

Meanwhile the host has now appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Returning: Nighty Night

That darkly black comedy, Nighty Night is returning to television for the second time -and on a new network.

SBS will screen Series 2 of the comedy written and starring Julia Davis from Thursday August 9.

The ABC had previously screened series one (and repeated it in May/June this year).

The series delights in showing how 'Jill' gains maximum sympathy from friends and co-workers after discovering her husband has cancer. She even visits a dating agency to start moving on with ehr life.

Nighty Night airs 10.15pm Thu Aug 9 on SBS.

Hey Hey 2008?

Daryl Somers won't be shooting a pilot this year, according to the Herald-Sun.

Plans for a new version of Hey Hey won't be put forward by the host until later in the year, with a potential shoot on the cards in 2008.

Seven has had plenty of other pilots on the go this year including projects for Naomi Robson, Grant Denyer and Andrew O'Keefe.

[Nine/9:30pm] Without a Trace. “Deep Water” This episode is Anthony LaPaglia's first foray into scriptwriting. The idea solidified for him during a conversation with makeup artist Michael Mills, and after eight months, LaPaglia presented the finished product to producers. After a little bit of tweaking, the script went into production. LaPaglia was inspired by a number of real-life events, including the Scott Petersen trial, recent news about the government wishing to extend where oil drilling is allowed, and Joseph Kennedy grooming his children for political careers. This episode has a noticeably different feel to it than previous episodes in that it features a much 'lighter' Jack Malone, and is the first episode where the fate of the missing person is revealed even before the opening credits.

Seven revenue rises

The Seven Network has announced its advertising revenue is up for the first half of 2007, previously at 36.4% in the same period in 2006, now at 39.1%.

It is the network's highest share except for the period with the Sydney Olympics.

Seven has written more than $1 billion in advertising revenue across the financial year ($1.05 billion).

Nine's revenue share has slipped from 36.6% to 32.7% while TEN increased from 27% to 28.1% for the corresponding halves in 2006. Ten's increased share is under expectations, but rises from a record low in 2006.
