Airdate: RSPCA Animal Rescue

Blue Wiggle Anthony Field will see his new observational series RSCPA Animal Rescue premiere at 7:30pm Tuesday July 17 on Seven.

Doubled with the return of Medical Emergency the shows will replace It Takes Two.

The synopsis for Field's show promises "Inspectors save some abandoned sheep running wild in an industrial lot, left unshorn for over two years the weight of their wool has stopped them in their tracks. Meanwhile, a cat saved by the RSPCA when found dying of a tick bite is reunited with its owners after being missing for two years and a Labrador puppy is rescued after being discovered beaten and hurt."

Nine bumps Nation

Channel Nine is finally moving on changes to The Nation, bumping it from Tuesday nights to Wednesdays at the later airtime of 10:30pm.

Last night the show had its lowest audience yet with only 548,000.

Nine is also premiering The Dame Edna Treatment and Things to Try Before You Die.

Nine's newly altered scheduling now follows as:

Freema Agyeman will not return to Who until halfway through the series.

Meanwhile Catherine Tate has confirmed as the new sidekick for the entire 13 episodes, reprising her role as Donna, the 'runaway bride.'

"I am delighted to be returning to Doctor Who," she said. "I had a blast last Christmas and look forward to travelling again through time and space with that nice man from Gallifrey."

Writer Russell t. Davies added, "Viewers can expect more ambitious storylines and a whole host of guest stars in 2008."

This show certainly likes to keep us from locking into favourite actors, but I guess it's the beauty of its format.

Rove back to Leno

Rove is heading back for another appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

McManus will apppear on the NBC show later this month.

It is the second appearance for the star who has recently signed a deal with a US Talent Agency.

Rove will tie in the chat with his eps he is recording in New York and LA.

Are these the Emmy contenders?

Internet website theenvelope.com claims to have leaked the top Emmy contenders for this year.

According to the site, the drama finalists are Boston Legal, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Friday Night Lights, Heroes. House, 24, Dexter, Rome and The Sopranos.

The comedy finalists are supposedly Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, My Name Is Earl, The Office, Scrubs, 30 Rock, Two and a Half Men, Entourage, Extras and Weeds.

The top 5 finalists are announced July 19.

Kylie confirms Dr Who special

It's official.

Kylie will guest star in this year's Dr Who xmas special.

She will film the role in Cardiff this month.

"We are delighted and excited to announce that Kylie Minogue will be joining the Doctor. Doctor Who Christmas specials are always a joy and we feel very confident that this will be the most ambitious and best Christmas episode yet."
