Victoria Beckham: Coming to Nine

The posh special Victoria Beckham: Coming to America will be aired by Nine next week just hours after its American premiere.

The one-off special, which Beckham has insisted is a "documentary not a reality show" shows the singer bringing her family to LA, while hubby David stays on in Spain (thankfully he's still in the thing).

The former Spice Girl can be seen hunting real estate, shopping, checking out schools for her kids and constantly pampering herself.

It promises the sort of car-crash telly that made The Osbournes so good.

You can see a preview of the NBC special here.

Press Release:

This revealing one hour special, Victoria Beckham: Coming to America, delves into the larger than life world of David & Victoria Beckham, one of the most famous couples in the world.

The special reveals, among other things, Victoria’s wicked sense of humour and
extraordinary sense of style.

Victoria’s willingness to poke fun at herself and her image, leads to some of the most insightful and hilarious moments, as the cameras follow Victoria and her entourage as she shops for a new home, and begins her new life in Los Angeles.

Channel Nine will air Victoria Beckham: Coming to America direct off the satellite from the United States, when it premieres on Tuesday.

Airs Tuesday, July 17 at 9.30pm on Channel Nine

Nine warbles a Singing Bee

Here's a look at NBC's new variety / game show The Singing Bee which will receive an Aussie version with the Nine Network. The show isn't interested in how well you sing the songs, but how well you remember the lyrics.

In the US it is hosted by former NSync member Joey Fatone and premiered this week to an impressive 13m viewers.

Press Release:

The Nine Network Australia announced today it has commenced production on a local version of The Singing Bee, NBC’s new smash hit variety show, where it’s not how well you sing but how well you know the words that counts.

The Singing Bee premiered in the US , on Tuesday July 10 at 9.30pm on NBC with an average of 13.1 million viewers, making it the network’s highest rating new show since 2003.

Viewers swarmed to the program which is a variety competition which challenges contestants to accurately sing the lyrics to popular songs - even when the band stops playing.

The Singing Bee is a karaoke showdown, with no middle ground for partially correct answers -- contestants must be perfect or they're out.

Family-friendly, broad in appeal and conducive to playing (and singing) along at home, The Singing Bee features popular, recognisable music that inspires hilarious wrong answers and amazing performances by those rare contestants who somehow manage to get every word right.

The Nine Network has commenced production on a local version of The Singing Bee featuring both international and Australian song content, for Australian audiences.

“Half variety show, and half game show, The Singing Bee is great all-round entertainment for the whole family, and we are really looking forward to bringing it to local viewers in September,” said Michael Healy, Nine’s Director of Programming.
