Chasing up the ratings

It was Seven's week again, but the real hit of the week was The Chaser's War on Everything, which finished the week as the #1 show.

The Chaser became the ABC's biggest ever comedy audience with 2.2m viewers.

But as usual Seven won the overall week with 29.9%, well clear of Nine which slipped down to 25.5%. TEN wasn't far behind with 23.3%, the ABC had 16.2% and SBS 5.0%.

Seven won Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Friday, with Nine winning all others. Seven won in all metro cities.

Seven's best for the week was Kath and Kim, which turned around from diminishing numbers. It was followed by the factual bunch Border Security, Medical Emergency, RSPCA Animal Rescue, and The Force. Next was Seven News, still leading Nine's nationally, AFL, Hot Property, Better Homes and Gardens, Today Tonight, Home and Away, City Homicide, All Saints and Australia's Bext Backyards. City Homicide is currently sitting as our favourite Aussie drama. Wednesdays continue to remain sluggish for Seven, but Prison Break will soon return to the fold.

Channel Nine had a disappointing week with no programmes in the week's top ten. It lost its usual Sunday win, and was third on Monday. Its best performer was Sunday's News. Next was RPA, the only other show in the top 20. Further down the list of hits was 60 Minutes and Backyard Blitz. Concerningly, Sea Patrol is sinking with each week., down to 1.2m. Mondays are still a headache for Nine, with even 1 vs 100 under the 1m mark.

Thank God You're Here remains strong with 1.7m for TEN, but there are only two episodes remaining. AFL was next best for TEN, then So You Think You Can Dance, NCIS, Law and Order: SVU and Rove. Californication went up as a result of conservative complaints -how effective.

ABC won all slots from 8:30pm to 10pm on Wednesday with Spicks & Specks, The Chaser and Summer Heights High. Otherwise its best audiences were for ABC News, Australian Story, Einstein Factor, and Doctor Who.

SBS had no shows in the week's Top 100. Monday was its best.
