TEN HD trailer

Check out TEN's new HD trailer, it sure looks tasty.

As idents.tv indicates, it's a light-hearted introduction to High Def for the uninitiated -although the American scientist approach is certainly an unusual choice. It's also odd that they promise surround sound audio -don't I need surround sound speakers for that first? Just adding a set top box won't give me that. Nevertheless, it's a contemporary, crisp look, shows a sense of humour and suggests TEN's launch will hopefully be worth the wait.

So, judging by that trailer, does that mean we'll finally get Friday Night Lights?

An American voice? WHAT FOR??? ...An American voice for an American channel, perhaps?

They did promise a mix of current and alternative programming.

I would assume that's a YES for Friday Night Lights.

Pardon my language, but why the F*** is an American presenting the ad?! Don't get me wrong, I'm very much looking forward to TEN HD, but the fact that an advertisement for an AUSTRALIAN TV network is fronted by a yankee really s***s me.

Outsourcing, it's quite simple under Howard's IR laws these days.

theres nothing worth watching on 7HD yet so your not missing much,

Ten's model is far superior then Seven's. Ten is converting one of their usless SD channles to HD so it is an extra channel - they will have 2 HD channels in December, this new one, plus the HD version of thier main channel.

is there enough bandwidth for Ten to have 2 HD channels?!?

And, strange as it seems, but I actually don't have a problem with the American actor on the ad - actually he looks very familiar, where have we seen him before??

stuff the american voice...i dont really mind

i was impressed enough about Ten HD before, and now im even more intrested....it just looks so fresh....has a very 'Ten' feel to it, and that's a good thing
i get what Seven is doing with their HD launch, but i think they would have be better served waiting a little while and spending some more money in launching a better-look channel with more a full schedule

both it & Nine will need to work hard in order to compete with the sliky smoothness vibe that Ten HD is putting out

i really need to go get a HD Digital box!

have to agree with Neil. Ten's announcement and promotion of TenHD really proves that they are the most progressed with their HD channel and I think they're going to be best at it, even though it's not first to air. They've clearly caught channels 7 and 9 on the hop as far as planning goes - hence 7's obviously rushed HD launch just so they could claim to be first. And what of Nine's HD channel?? it was mentioned in a newspaper article some weeks ago but since then not a word
