Seven dumps Wed movies

Seven is dropping its Wednesday night movies in favour of the observational series, The Force.

Seven's Wednesday share was well down on TEN's this week, at only 21% behind 29%.

It will return the WA-based police series presented by Simon Reeve from next week. It will be followed by a similar UK series, Murder Squad, and Air Crash Investigations.

Returning: Earl, Ghost Whisperer. Out: Las Vegas?

My Name is Earl and Ghost Whisperer are both returning to Seven's schedule. But That 70's Show and Las Vegas may disappear.

Earl (8:00pm) will follow Kath & Kim (7:30pm) in the new Sunday night timeslot from Sunday August 19.

Although there is no indication of episode info at this stage, Seven has not indicated this as a repeat. It previously halted the series six episodes before the end of the second series. The new series is due to start in the US late September.

Ghost Whisperer starring Jennifer Love Hewitt will move to the 7:30pm Thursday timeslot from Thursday Aug 23. It will be followed by two new series, Fight for Life which looks at 'the wonders of the human body as never seen before' and a new UK drama series Time of Your Life at 9:30pm.

These changes effectively remove That 70's Show and Las Vegas from Seven's Thursday schedule. Vegas will have only had four episodes from its fourth series here. No word yet on where they may re-appear.

UPDATE: New eps of Earl are confirmed. "Guess Who's Coming Out of Joy" airs Sun 19.

Airdate: Kath & Kim

As expected, Seven has confirmed Kath & Kim will premiere at 7:30pm on Sunday August 19 (TV Tonight has been quietly observing official network embargos despite leaks and advertising elsewhere).

This series will see guest roles including Mark Trevorrow, Shane Warne, Eric Bana (as himself) Andrew O'Keefe, Rob Sitch and Matt Lucas. O'Keefe appears hosting Deal or No Deal with Sharon as a contestant.

At the launch for the show, which included a huge 7 made of Baby Cheeses, media were shown an hilarious bloopers reel.

The first episode entitled "Holiday" shows the families relaxing at Coolum Beach in Queensland. Look out for a very funny sunburn scene for Sharon and Kim peeling it off.

Prue and Trude won't appear in the first episode but are back for more laughs later.
