SPICY REALITIES OF PADMINI KOLHAPURE

  • Padmini Kolhapure shocked the entire country when instead of offering a traditional Indian welcome  miss brazen kissed Prince Charles on lips upon his arrival to India in the eighties.
  •
  • Hold your breath guys. Padmini was the original choice of the 'showman' Raj Kapoor for his grand opus Ram Teri Ganga Maili Ho Gayee.  Lack of dates finally made her loose this see thru role. Imagine Padmini dancing seductively under the water fall.
  •
  • Similarly Rajiv Kapoor had originally written and planned his movie Prem Granth with Padmini in mind. Both of them infact had a rip-roaring affair at one time.
  •
  • Padmini was considered a real bindaas girl by her co-stars. As per Anil Kapoor Padmini had no qualms changing her clothes in front of her co-stars. Both of them worked in a social-Woh Saat Din , where Padmini revealed a lot of her meat.
  •
  • The controversial/once banned and double meaning song Saat Saheliya was picturised and partly sung by the sensous Padmini Kolhapure.
  •
  • Padmini once slapped Sanjay Dutt in a party in Bombay when our Sunju Baba, then very young, tried to kiss her and flirt with her in general. I am surprised- why could miss boldie object to this sweet gesture ?
  •
  • Great News - Padmini is back to where she belongs. Yes, she has recently started shooting for a Hindi-Marathi bilingual opposite Sachin Khandekar who had earlier played Tabu's husband in Astitva. This Padmini movie is also expected to be a offbeat like Astitva.
  •
  • By the way Padmini Kolhapure was the original choice as heroine in Astitva. Would'nt it been facinating had she done that movie !
  •
  • PADMINI KOLHAPURE is all set to stage her debut in Marathi films, with a crucial role in Chimney Pakhare, her comeback bid to acting. For Padmini, the role’s been a dream come true. "I’ve always yearned to act in Marathi films, especially since it’s my mother tongue. I also liked the story -- it’s both emotional and touching. I’m sure the film will be appreciated by the Marathi audience," she says.

The chief guest at the bash to unleash the music of the film, in fact was Padmini’s friend and former co-star, Anil Kapoor. "Padmini is considered a lucky actress in film circles," said Anil, adding, "If I am a sought after actor today, it’s because Padmini agreed to work with me in Woh Saat Din. She’s also proved lucky for several other co-stars and colleagues."

Producer Matchindra Chate and director Mahesh Kothare, no doubt, will be hoping she turns out to be lucky for them as well.

  • While producer hubby Tutu Sharma launches one film after the other, Padmini Kolhapure is out to upgrade the skills of film aspirants. She is busy in looking after her "The Padmini Kolhapure School of Acting". The school is running in London and Delhi and another shop will commence in Mumbai soon.

Padmini is in the business  of producing new stars. The star of such hits as 'Insaaf Ka Tarazu', 'Pyar Jhukta Nahin' and 'Prem Rog' has also launched a portal called startalaash.com. This portal is open for showbiz aspirants even outside Padmini's acting schools. The portal features their portfolios and resumes to enable them to get a break."

She says that her younger sister Tejaswini is all set to make her debut in the long-delayed 'Paanch'. Tejaswani did not need much of help by way of training, though; she came to the big screen with modeling and theater experience. Padmini made a comeback as an actress recently, in a bilingual film co-starring Sachin Khedekar. "The film is called 'Chimni Pakhra' in Marathi, and it ran for 50 weeks. The Hindi version, tentatively titled 'Maa', will be released soon," she adds. [source-SmashHits.com ]
