guardian.co.uk Uploaders

Thinking about a career in online journalism? Looking for experience? Want to earn some money at the same time? Read on ...

guardian.co.uk

The guardian.co.uk night shift team is responsible for processing all stories in the Guardian and Observer. The night shift produces the edited online version of the newspaper, ensuring that we make the most of Guardian and Observer content on all the different sites.

We are continually recruiting uploaders to work on the night shift. You must be available to do at least two to three night shifts per week (including one on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday) for at least six months.

The successful applicants are likely to be student journalists, or graduates interested in a career in journalism (writing, subbing or production) able to demonstrate a commitment to journalism and an enthusiasm for the possibilities of the internet. Attention to detail is essential.

We are very keen to encourage applications from students from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds, particularly those from minority ethnic backgrounds, as these groups are recognised as being under-represented in journalism.

Your written application should include:

· Your cv
· Your availability
· Your email address and daytime telephone number
· Two suggestions for improving guardian.co.uk

Please email your application to [email protected] with 'Uploader' in the subject line. Application is by email only.

Only successful applicants will be contacted.
