ICGS - Integrated Coast Guard System

The Coast Guard's Integrated Deepwater System (IDS) is a critical multi-year program to modernize and replace the Coast Guard's aging ships and aircraft, and improve command and control and logistics systems. It is the largest acquisition in the history of the Coast Guard. Integrated Coast Guard Systems (ICGS) has been managing the IDS contract since it was awarded in June, 2002. ICGS is a joint venture of Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin. ICGS was awarded the Deepwater contract in June, 2002. ICGS is headquartered in Rosslyn, VA, with core leadership teams in Virginia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, and Washington, DC.

Lockheed Martin will provide an advanced, fully integrated command and control system and information network across all the new and upgraded Deepwater cutters, aircraft and associated land-based facilities. Lockheed Martin is also responsible for providing fully integrated manned and unmanned aircraft and the logistics system across the entire Deepwater project.

The Coast Guard is one of our nation's oldest and most distinguished organizations. The Coast Guard currently performs fourteen federally mandated missions in the deepwater environment, including Maritime Security, Maritime Safety, National Defense, Maritime Mobility and Protection of Natural Resources.

The Integrated Coast Guard System solution is a to replace the ships, aircraft, C4I and logistics systems necessary for the U.S. Coast Guard to fulfill its missions. The ICGS utilizes an innovative Mission-Based Performance Acquisition approach, and has teamed with the leaders in industry to provide maximum operational effectiveness at the lowest total ownership cost.
