Automated Radar Terminal System (ARTS) Color Display (ACD)
Lockheed Martin is replacing monochrome display technology with ARTS Color Display for terminal air traffic control workstations that incorporate commercial open systems technology. The first operational deployment of ARTS occurred in August 2000 at the New York Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON). In use at large TRACONs throughout the United States, ARTS Color Displays are being integrated with Lockheed Martin’s ARTS IIIE terminal automation system. The TRACON sites where these new displays are in use include Atlanta, Louisville, Minneapolis, New York, Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Chicago, Southern and Northern California, St. Louis and Potomac, which serves the Mid-Atlantic and Washington, DC, region.
