If you haven’t made it to the slopes this year, fear not! The team behind the fashionably cool Milk & Honey membership clubs brings to London a make-shift Alpine Lodge that offers a true rendition of the cosy atmosphere and gluttonous food/drink menu one relishes after a day’s skiing.  With the continuously dropping temperatures at home, this bar coined 'The Clubhouse' is a treat. more ›

It's the nuttier aspects of love that drive Spanish playwright, Lope De Vega's tangled tale, Madness in Valencia. A contemporary of Shakespeare, De Vega's life was pretty dramatic; it's surprising he had time to write the 1,800-odd plays in between the womanising, Armada fighting and being a lascivious priest. David Johnston's free translation gives a nice nod to De Vega's life as one of the crazy characters adopts aspects of his biog. more ›

Hovering sumptuously over Hyde Park Corner with commanding views of the park and Knightsbridge, the Intercontinental Park Lane's 112sqm Cinema Suite is one of four signature designer suites and another 56 less posh but nonetheless swank designer suites introduced by the hotel after its recent £76 million refurbishment. The suite represents the very epitome of urban luxury … but at a price beyond the reach of all but the super rich. more ›

Gavin Bond is one of the Uk's most successful contemporary photographers, having shot highly intimate and exciting photographs of some of musics' best loved icons over the past decade. This new exhibition of music photography, his first here in London for 11 years, gives us the opportunity to see images that have never been seen in the UK before and promises to get us up close and personal to some rock greats. Currently travelling around the US with Green Day as their official photographer, we managed to get him to take a rest from his shutterbug activities and answer our questions... more ›

Marathon runners and fundraisers amassed a whopping £47.2 million off the back of the 2009 race, setting this year's London Marathon fair to see the cumulative total of this landmark annual challenge surpass the half a billion mark for quids raised for charity since the race's inception in 1981. more ›

Rage Against The Machine Free Gig

RATMsml.jpg You shattered sweet Joe McElderry's dreams of a number one chart debut with your bizarre Facebook organised "anarchic" act of people power, doing what everyone told you and propelling one hit wonders Rage Against The Machine to the top of the hit parade with their expletive filled grunge rock apopolyptic anthem, 'Killing In The Name Of'. Now you have the chance to attend the "victory party to end all parties" at Finsbury Park on June 6th, having dug out that chain that used to swing from your three quarter length combats, dreaded up your barnet and prepped your larynx for a lot of shouty swearing. Register now online. Tickets will be allocated on a lottery basis. Offer closes Sunday.

After a quiet start to the year, February sees venues’ diaries finally thawing out and the first hot tickets of 2010 must surely be a twofer by Band of Skulls, at the 100 Club tonight and The Garage later in the week. more ›

Best Not Change At Bank Or What?

It's been drummed into our commuting subconscious not to change at Bank for ages. Today's message however is, no, seriously, avoid changing at Bank as escalator replacement and upgrade work continues in March and - um - escalates from May. If you're a regular Bank-er, read Diamond Geezer on how to navigate best around TfL's information and the disruption. If you're going to avoid it, good advice is to use one of the many alternative tube stations within walking distance: Cannon Street, Mansion House, St Pauls, Liverpool Street, Moorgate or London Bridge or use this as an opportunity, with spring approaching, to get on your bike. It'll be 2011 before Bank gets the all clear for resumption of a less congested, less complicated and regularly reliable interchange.

Last Minute Listing: Courtney Love @ Proud

11_CourtneyLove.jpg She's playing a sold-out gig with Hole next week, but it's just been announced that Courtney Love will be hitting Proud in Camden tonight for a surprise show that leaves her set to 'do a few numbers'. The show will be part of Smash & Grab's Valentines Ball and Courtney joins a line-up that already includes the much recommended I Blame Coco, Jay and the Boys and folksters Babe Shadow. If the queues at Proud aren't already ridiculous, tonight there's no doubt it's going to be manic. £4 in before 10pm and bands are from 7.30. Let us know if there's any drama.
