Comments: 18A kids' cookbook creator is still trying to take a bite out of Jerry Seinfeld.
Missy Chase Lapine, whose suit against recipe rival Jessica Seinfeld was thrown out of federal court last year, is now taking aim at her funnyman husband in state court.
She says the "Marriage Ref" star slandered her during an appearance on the "Late Show with David Letterman," where he referred to her as "angry and hysterical" and a "wacko" stalker.
In a later interview with "E! News," he referred to Lapine as a "nut."
Lapine's Manhattan state Supreme Court suit says she's none of the above - she's simply a cookbook author who suspected Seinfeld's wife of stealing her ideas and recipes for her bestseller, "Deceptively Delicious."
The suit notes that Lapine had shopped her idea for a book advocating hiding healthy food for kids inside of junky food to "Deceptively Delicious" publisher HarperCollins a year before the Seinfeld book came out.
Lapine sued both Seinfelds in federal court - Jessica for ripping off her idea and Jerry for ripping her - but a judge found Jessica hadn't stolen her book, and said the slander case should be heard in state court.
The suit seeks unspecified money damages from Seinfeld for his "false" and "reckless" statements.
"Jerry has a constitutional right to tell jokes and perform satire," said his lawyer, Orin Snyder.

Please, put me on the jury for this. Jerry and his wife will be paupers, like they deserve.

Ah, yes- once again, the wife thief and his "executive producer" recipe thief get to feel the public wrath.
As a display of their remorse, they must hop into a high powered automobile, drive out to the Hamptons, and briskly drive into a tree.
A great concept for their wonderful new show!

can't he and his "executive producer" find an idea that they won't steal?

Bottom line: "The suit seeks unspecified money damages from Seinfeld..."
If this lawsuit gets any traction whatsoever, Seinfeld can just do the "Kobe Bryant" and dip into his petty cash, throw her a couple of hundred large and the b*itch crawls back under her rock.

cabbylee...no...you NEVER had the right to publicly slander people. That is why slander and libel laws exist in the first place. Based on what Jerry Seinfeld said, it appears that he very well may have crossed over the line.
It never fails though...the ignorant idiots who always try to use the Bill or Right argument are ALWAYS the ones who understand the Bill of Rights the least.
