Due to the religious holidays, April's First Friday is a little on the sparse side, but whether you've got a bottle of Manischewitz or a chocolate bunny in tow, this is one holiday that is non-denominational. It's even more non-denominational if you carve your own path, away from the Old City haunts that house the same snooze-worthy junk.
To me, there is no greater rock success story (ok, so probably not true, but bear with me) than that of a band deemed one-hit wonder—turned seasoned indie rock vets only after they cut ties with The Man and did things their own way. (And that—ladies and gentlemen— is what you call the OPPOSITE of “selling out”).
They burst onto the scene last year, winning fans across the globe with their larger-than-life rock anthems, swaggering stage presence and epic guitar licks. But for Melbourne-based rock gods The Temper Trap life isn’t ALL pulsing crowds and microphone-clutching (although we hear they DO put on an amazing show.)
