Harrisburg is still porking away, the New Black Panther Party is about to erupt, the president is sitting on his thumbs, the Weathermen are resurfacing, soldiers still dying, health-care providers striking back, no Social Security increases for two years (at least), electric-gas-water-taxes-transportation all beckoning for more money, and now the federal government wants to stop tax deductions on our mortgage interest.
THE CITY HAS nearly 500 Big Belly solar trash compactors on the streets, including one at the Municipal Services Building, which houses the offices of Controller Alan Butkovitz. We suggest he use that unit to recycle the report he just released on the compactors, which is about as useful as the refuse being tossed into the receptacles.
