In a dramatic first big-league at-bat, Domonic Brown drove in the first run with a hard-hit double in the second, immediately ingratiating himself to a curious crowd at Citizens Bank Park. He later added a single and a sacrifice fly to account for another run in the Phillies' breezy 7-1 win.

This was not the move general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. and the Phillies spent so much time trying to make before the trade deadline. The last thing in the world they wanted or needed was another one of their starting position players on the disabled list.
