The first game of the Monday Night Football kickoff, the Bills vs. the Patriots on Monday September 14 was the most-watched show of the week with just over 14 million viewers, with the second game of the Chargers vs. Raiders in second with 11.95 million. The drop to third place WWE Raw with 5.1 million was steep. Sunday night’s Hannah Montanta was in fourth place with 5.061 million and Monk rounded out the top five with 4.88 million.
I will doing highlights for ABC Family, Syfy, and Cartoon Network in separate posts, later in the day.
Outside of the Top 25, but just outside of it, really, was Liftime’s Project Runway with 3.62 million. Army Wives with 3.28 Million, and Drop Dead Diva with 3.06 million also performed well for Lifetime.
Mad Men competed with itself winning the best drama Emmy and averaged 1.57 million viewers Sunday night at 10pm.

“The G. O’Keeffe movie on Saturday got 1.923 mil”
many thanks. I’m not sure if it’s the lowest rated Lifetime Television movie of the year (because I don’t know the number of the one aired in August), however it’s certainly a disastrous result.
Some of the movies aired earlier this year got more than 1,9m in their Sunday encore.
Yeah, I don’t pay enough attention to LIFETIME on a regular enough basis to know if it’s their lowest rated either. But it’s no PRAYERS FOR BOBBY or MANEATER, that’s for sure!
Was that the premiere, on Saturday night? Hmm. FYI — they did rerun it Sunday night, as DROP DEAD DIVA’s lead-in, and it got 1.183 mil.
“Was that the premiere, on Saturday night? Hmm”
yes, Lifetime movies usually have the premiere on Saturday night with a rerun on Sunday and then on Tuesday.
Lifetime Television movies this year so far:
Prayers for Bobby 3,780 m
America 3,212m
Nora Roberts’ Northern Light 4,531m
Nora Roberts’ Midnight Bayou 3,808m
Nora Roberts’ High Noon 3,313m
Nora Roberts’ Tribute 3,430m
Unstable 2,317m
Maneater Part I ?? Part II 2,9m
Acceptance ???
Georgia O’Keeffe 1,923m
So even if Acceptance did worse, it’s still a terrible result compared to their other movies.
LIFETIME seem keen to do some changes to attract the young female demo (Project Runaway, realities, finally finding a successful comedy). I wonder if they will consider getting rid of their original movies (and leaving them just on LMN)
It’s awesome seeing Hannah Montana in fourth place! Miley came so close to beating WWE Raw. Hopefully next time she will.
Thanks for the comparison numbers. Yeah, the O’Keeffe movie didn’t do so hot with young women, that’s for sure. Strongest demo was W25-54.
W18-34: 0.3/1
W18-49: 0.6/2
W25-54: 0.8/2
Their movies are such a part of their brand, I doubt they’d abandon them. Though maybe try fewer a year.
Mr Seidman,
The weekly plea for the numbers on the dreadful Jon & Kate +8, please?
Thanks in advance!!
TV Bill, do you have the 9/18 8:30-9:30 ratings of Nick’s “The Troop”? Just curious.
Lenny, sorry but TVBill is not your ratings monkey, and neither are we! None of the Friday 8:30-9:30 airings do as well as the 8pm airing. And the Sunday 6pm airing had the most viewers of all (1.8 million). There are Saturday night and Sunday afternoon airings that did better than Friday at 8:30pm-9:30pm.
Kongame, I haven’t seen anything yet for last NIGHT (9/21), but on 9/14 @ 9pm 1.789M, and 9:30p .897M
“Their movies are such a part of their brand, I doubt they’d abandon them. Though maybe try fewer a year.”
yes, you’re probably right. This year they are airing 12 original movies. I guess next year it will be the same (as many are already in production and/or planned).
Premiering them on Saturday probably doesn’t help the young demo figures, on the other hand it probably boosts total viewers as they can take advantage from the fact it’s a night with no competition from the big networks.
Mr Seidman, Thank you so much!! Very much appreciate it!!
Say ‘Buh-bye Kate!!’

Surprisingly he didn’t post J&K+8 ratings this week. I guess I have to wait until Thursday to find ratings for last week’s episode of Real Chance of Love to and to try my luck for last night’s episode next week.
Mr. Seidman–Did I miss the separate post for ABC Family shows? I can’t seem to find it.
@ Number Cruncher–Did I read that right, those numbers for Greek and Lincoln Heights are from last night, not last week?
Yes, those ABC Family numbers are from last night. The ones from last week are below but the total viewers are not included.
Lincoln Heights
- 0.6/1 HH
- 0.3/1 A18-49
Greek
- 0.6/1 HH
- 0.3/1 A18-49
LOL. I do like bananas though! Since I do happen to have Friday’s cable ratings next to me (and to prove Robert’s point) —
8:00 Troop – 1.794, 8:30 Troop – 1.393, 9:00 Troop – 1.331
@Kongame Last night’s Jon & Kate +8 at 9pm – 1.714
Okay, no more monkeying around
Number Cruncher: Real Chance (9/14): 1.243m
Thanks. It took a big hit from that 2 week hiatus.
And Real Chance last night (9/21): 1.360m
TV Bill, thanks, we appreciate the numbers. Wonder where J&K will bottom out.
Thanks TVBill. I absolutely appreciate that one.
