Morocco receives first F-16s

Morocco is the latest U.S. partner nation to receive the F-16 Fighting Falcon, a historic event marked by a ceremony at Ben Guerrir Air Base, Morocco on August 4th.

Morocco unveils its block 52 F-16s

The Royal Moroccan Air Force (RMAF) unveiled the first four of 24 Lockheed Martin F-16 aircraft in a ceremony today at Ben Guerrir Air Base in Morocco.
The first four of 24 new Block 52 F-16s produced for the Royal Moroccan Air Force have left the Lockheed Martin facility in Fort Worth, Texas, en route to Morocco.
SAFE SKIES 2011 came to a close on July 29 after twelve days of what officials said were successful flying training missions.
A vehicle convoy on its way to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, comes under attack; immediately the convoy commander calls for an air strike. Once the F-16 fighter jet crew chiefs get the word, they know exactly what to do and rush to the airfield to prepare F-16s for launch to assist the troops on the ground.
The second flight of four from a total batch of nine F-16 fighters were delivered to Jordan today (with the first flight leaving last Wednesday) from Kleine Brogel airbase.
Several Air National Guard F-16 Fighting Falcons landed in Ukraine over the weekend for a U.S. European Command sponsored, aerial military-to-military exchange event called SAFE SKIES 2011.

162 FW pilots set flying record

Four members of the 162nd Fighter Wing flew with the largest number of F-16 flying hours ever flown in a four-ship formation - a total of 14,834.3 - in 4th of July flybys this year.
A pilot at Luke Air Force Base reached a feat that only 30 other F-16 pilots have accomplished throughout their careers.
In July, the Kingdom of Morocco, a strategic partner for U.S. forces in North Africa, will become the 25th country to own and operate F-16 Fighting Falcons. The pilots tapped to fly them are scheduled to finish training in time to bring them home, July 30.
