An F-22 Raptor successfully flew at supercruise, March 18 on a 50/50 fuel blend of conventional petroleum-based JP-8 and biofuel derived from Camelina, a weed-like plant not used for food.

Raptor pilot confirmed killed in Alaska crash

The U.S. Air Force confirmed on Friday that the F-22 Raptor pilot that crashed in Alaska earlier this week during a night time training mission perished in the accident.
Search-and-rescue aircraft have discovered the apparent wreckage of an Air Force F-22 Raptor assigned to the 3rd Wing at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
The 90th Fighter Squadron, 3rd Wing, deployed F-22s and personnel to Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., Oct. 30, to participate in exercise Combat Archer, the air-to-air evaluation portion of the United States Air Force's Weapons Systems Evaluation Program.

19 FS returns to Hickam

The 19th Fighter Squadron came home to Hickam during a realignment and assumption of command ceremony on October 4 at the Hawaii National Guard's Hangar 3400.
The 27th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron from Langley Air Force Base, Va., is redeploying after four months in support of the Theater Security Package mission.
Any pilot flying sorties during Red Flag-Alaska can expect long days filled with mission planning, and pre and post flight briefings.
More than 150 Airmen and 12 F-22 Raptors from the 43rd Fighter Squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., arrived here July 31 in support of the Air Force's first Exercise Global Gem joint training.
