About Anne

Anne was born in Latrobe, Tasmania in 1957 and grew up in Ulverstone and Gawler.  She is married to Graham and they have two children and 4 grandchildren.

Anne is a union official with the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union and from 2004 has been the State Secretary of the AMWU in Tasmania, which was when she relocated to Hobart to take up this position.  Anne has been a member of the AMWU since 1979 and commenced working with the Food Preservers Union in 1990 based in Devonport.

Prior to this Anne worked at the Simplot potato processing factory in Ulverstone.

Anne has been involved in representing workers for the past 28 years.  Over this time Anne has represented workers on a number of boards.

In addition to representing working men and women, Anne has been involved in country association badminton and played with the Abbotsham club for many years.

Anne is committed to working with Julia Gillard to deliver better health, education and job opportunities for families in Tasmania.
