Terms of Use

Labor Connect aims to create an online community committed to furthering the debate of progressive politics in Australia.

As a community, Labor Connect will contribute to policy development within the Labor Party. Any party supporter can be a member of the Labor Connect community.

Here are a few guidelines to keep things working:

Stick to the topic

Sticking to the topic helps everyone. This will help the online discussion to flow and be more interesting, allowing ideas to develop in a structured and useful way.

Be respectful

We are after a good discussion, not an argument. Profanities, name calling, personal or ad hominem attacks on fellow Labor Connect members, politicians or public figures are prohibited. Remember writing your whole post in capitals is like throwing a tantrum.

Be honest

Facts not fiction please. Spreading misleading or false information is prohibited.

No Junk Mail

No advertising or promoting products or repeatedly posting the same post.

Leave factions at the door

The Labor Connect community and ThinkTank are not forums for factional or group alliances. Such groups or posts will be removed.

We retain the right to determine which comments violate our comment policy at our discretion. We also reserve the right to remove violations. We expect all contributors to be respectful.

Australian Labor does not necessarily support or condone all discussions on this website. Australian Labor will remove defamatory comments where they are identified. Australian Labor will assess all reports of inappropriate comments and respond accordingly. The Party Platform represents the guiding document for policy development within Australian Labor.

This policy also applies to Australian Labor social networking profiles including but not limited to those on Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, Scribd & Twitter.
