Labor believes that our commitment to social justice extends to those of future generations.
As a matter of intergenerational justice, we must consider how the decisions we make today will impact on future generations. Labor's approach to the economy, the environment, international relations and our communities will reflect this responsibility.
In particular, the interests of future generations must be taken into account in our response to the threat of climate change—the greatest moral challenge of our age.
Labor will manage our natural heritage so future generations can experience the rich diversity we have inherited, in particular acting to halt the devastating and permanent impacts of extinction.
