Lorraine Kelly has landed the job of hosting ITV1's flagship breakfast show Daybreak, say reports. Kelly has been linked to the series for a number of months following the departures of original hosts Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley. According to The Mirror, Kelly now has the job and there are four men in line to join her on the breakfast sofa. Former Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris Hollins, Katherine Jenkins's ex-lover Gethin Jones, Five News's Matt Barbet and ITV correspondent Keir Simmons are apparently the final four contenders for the gig. Charlie Simpson has described today's online music culture as "disposable". The singer, who releases his new Ep Farmer And His Gun this week, said that putting out individual tracks on the internet has affected the way full albums are created. Simpson told Digital Spy: "I just like EPs. I like the fact you get a few songs - singles just seem so boring. It's nice to put a couple of extra tunes on there. Seth Lakeman has described his latest record as "left-field". The folk singer's new album Tales from the Barrel House was recorded entirely inside an old barrel house and is based on his own short stories. "It represents old artisans of industry, blacksmiths and carpenters, and putting all these subjects into the location of this barrel house in Devon," he told BBC Breakfast. Paul McCartney has re-arranged his world tour to fit in a charity gig in London. The former Beatles star booked extra shows across Europe to keep his set on the continent so it would be easier and cheaper to take it to London's Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust event on March 29. Microsoft is planning to release a scaled-down version of the Xbox 360 in 2013, reports have claimed. The "Xbox Lite" will offer Xbox 360 playback, Kinect integration and sell for around the same price as Apple TV ($$100/£100), reports Ms Nerd. The Arm-based platform will be compatible with all "current and future media apps" with a Kinect sensor that contains near mode technology. Releasing in 2013, the "Xbox Lite" will act as a precursor to the next Xbox, "a true successor to the 360", which will "do games for core-audiences and the same media apps as the other device, also with Kinect". Thank goodness for telly and its schedules. A comforting old pal, like clockwork and the weather, every few months the seasons change. Wrap up the old and on to the new. The lack of decent telly has even forced me to adopt a weekend social life for the past few weeks - and I don't do weekend going out. If you lived near me and saw the reprobates that frequent the local establishments, you'd realise why. So it was goodbye to the icy winter guilty pleasure, Dancing on Ice, for another year, and hello to the spring schedule. Losing an hour of sleep was particularly horrendous to endure, but at least I can now gingerly attempt to bare my milk bottle legs and wear the new pair of Ray-bans I've been dying to show off.
