This adorable pup almost didn't make it. Her mother was rescued before being euthanized. Veterinarians expected the pup to be stillborn, and she wasn't breathing when she emerged. Fortunately, her owner Beth convinced the vet to perform CPR on the puppy, and she began breathing.What was Beth's inspiration for Beyonce's name? Los Angeles (AP) -- Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel just got a prime-time gig: Host of the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards. The star and executive producer of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!'' will host the Emmy Awards ceremony on Sept. 23 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. "I hope to be able to do for the Emmys this year what Eddie Murphy did for the Oscars,'' Kimmel joked, referring to the comedian who pulled out as host of this year's Oscar ceremony. This is Kimmel's first time hosting the Emmy Awards.Kimmel's namesake show is in its 10th season on ABC. He previously hosted the American Music Awards and the Espy Awards and is set to host the White House Correspondents' dinner next month. New York (AP) -- Absence made the heart grow fonder for "Mad Men'' fans, who flocked to the fifth-season premiere in record numbers. AMC network says Sunday's premiere telecast drew 3.5 million viewers. This marks a 21 percent growth over season four's premiere. AMC said Monday that the cumulative audience for the night's two airings of the debut episode was 4.4 million viewers. The audience had been kept waiting for 17 months after "Mad Men'' aired its fourth-season finale in October 2010. "Hunger Games" Breaks the Box Office: Third Best Opening Ever!

Los Angeles (AP) -- "The Hunger Games'' has shot near the top of the blockbuster list with a $152.5 million opening weekend domestically. That's the third-best revenue haul ever. That final figure released Monday was $2.5 million less than distributor Lionsgate estimated a day earlier. But it still was by far the best debut ever for a film released outside of the busy summer or holiday seasons and a record opening for a non-sequel.The film trails only the $169.2 million opening for last year's "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2'' and the $158.4 million debut of 2008's "Batman Begins'' sequel ``The Dark Knight.''
