Two U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter units in Europe stepped up their presence in the skies over Bosnia, the Pentagon announced Sept. 4.
Fighters from the 52nd Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, joined F-16s of the 31st Fighter Wing at Aviano Air Base,
Italy. The aircraft will operate from Aviano and are meant to bolster
NATO presence during the upcoming elections in Bosnia, Maj. Ed Worley, an Air Force spokesman, said Sept. 5.
