SCANG pilot posts 4,000 hours

Lt.Col. Scott "Cleetus" Bridgers recently joined the elite class of F-16 Fighting Falcon pilots to cross the 4000-hour flying threshold, stepping to his aircraft with nearly 3,996 hours in the seat of a Viper and landing with 4,000.5.
Pacific Air Forces released a report on the Air Force's plan to move people and aircraft associated with the 18th Aggressor Squadron from Eielson AFB near Fairbanks, Alaska, to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, near Anchorage, Alaska.
On May 23, 37° Stormo at Trapani held a farewell ceremony for the completion of the "Peace Caesar" program which ended the lease of US built F-16 fighters that had been in service with the Italian airforce for the past nine years defending the countries airspace.

The mission of the 56th Fighter Wing is to, "Train the world's greatest F-16 fighter pilots and maintainers, while deploying mission ready warfighters." Fifteen graduates of the F-16 Initial Qualification Course, Class 11-EBG, will cross the stage today and enter the Combat Air Forces as just that -- the world's greatest.
The Boeing Company and the U.S. Air Force completed the first manned flight of the QF-16 Full Scale Aerial Target (FSAT) on May 4 at Cecil Field in Jacksonville.
Test pilots from Edwards Air Force Base, held a training course at Eielson April 23 through 27, teaching 18th Aggressor Squadron aviators to harness the power of the F-16 Fighting Falcon even when pushed beyond its limits.
On April 10, 1977, the Air Force announced the 388th Fighter Wing as the first operational unit to be equipped with the new F-16 fighter jet.

F-16s & MiGs engage over Bulgarian skies

U.S. pilots from the 555th and 510th Fighter Squadrons based out of Aviano Air Base, Italy, have been given a rare opportunity to train and share experiences with Bulgarian air force MiG-21 and MiG-29 pilots during their deployment in support of Thracian Star 2012.
The last of more than 70 Airmen returned to Misawa Air Base April 19, 2012 after spending three weeks in Singapore in support of exercise Commando Sling 12-2.

A reports from The Netherlands Court of Audit indicates the Dutch Ministry of Defense made a decision on April 8, 2011 to reduce its number of F-16s from 87 to 68 aircraft while the Rutte-Verhagen government has deferred a decision on purchasing the F-35 until after elections planned to be held in 2015.
