"Last week we received a deployment order tasking nearly 300 of our Bulldogs of the 148th Fighter Wing to go serve at Kandahar Air Field, in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom," said 179th Fighter Squadron Commander Lt. Pilots from the 14th Fighter Squadron are training on close air support April 30 through May 17 at Misawa Air Base and Draughon Range, Japan, in support of the Diesel Weasel Exercise.
February marked the start of a historic journey for the 124th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron composed of Airmen from the 132nd Fighter Wing, Iowa Air National Guard.

Thunderbirds release 2012 show schedule

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds have announced their 2012 show schedule. The team is set to perform more than 60 demonstrations in 33 locations, including two shows in Canada.
The 480th Fighter Squadron recently returned from their first deployment where they flew missions to keep a watchful eye on the joint-force withdrawal from Iraq as the last F-16 Fighting Falcons left Balad.
On November 10th, 2011 Belgian 350(F) Sqn based at Florennes AB celebrated its 70th anniversary.
More than 175 members of the 113th Wing, District of Columbia Air National Guard, will deploy to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, this week in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Gunfighter jet honors 65th anniversary

Members of the Texas Air National Guard's 149th Fighter Wing have begun a year-long remembrance leading up to the unit's the 65th anniversary in the Air National Guard with a new design for the wing's flagship aircraft.
This is the motto and creed by which the Airmen with the Gambler Aircraft Maintenance Unit and 77th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron -- collectively called the Gamblers -- live. They deployed from Shaw Air Force Base, and have been supporting Operation Unified Protector for more than five months.
The commander of Air Combat Command, Gen. William M. Fraser III, has officially selected the officers who will be joining the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, "Thunderbirds" for the 2012 demonstration season.
