KOCHI : INS Venduruthy, the oldest naval establishment in Kochi, celebrated its 63rd annivers ary on Friday. A small naval unit set up just two days prior to the outbreak of World War II. The establishment, headed by Commodore A T Lucose as the Commanding Officer, has under its wings nine schools imparting professional training to officers and sailors of the Navy, Coast Guard and friendly foreign navies. The anniversary was celebrated with an entertainment programme followed by the cake-cutting ceremony. As per naval traditions, Commodore Lucose, along with the junior most sailor of the establishment, Pradeep Kumar, Writer II, cut the cake to celebrate.
