Rumor: Darkseid is Villain in 'Justice League'

Darkseid

The Justice League movie is inching its way to theaters, and after years in development, Warner Bros. promised it's really going to happen this time. The studio has a script, you see, even if there are currently no director(s) or actors attached.

Not much is known about the story, but it's safe to say that there will be a threat which will require the collective efforts of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and probably other members of the Justice League to deal with it.

So who or what is badass enough that even Superman has to pick up the phone and call for help?

According to Latino Review, it's Darkseid (pronounced Dark side). Since the site has as many hits as it does misses in the rumor department, it's a tossup on whether it's true or not.

In any case, Darkseid is one of the most powerful beings in the DC universe, and he bears a passing resemblance to Marvel's Thanos, the villain who is rumored to be the main baddie in The Avengers 2.

While Darkseid's backstory is a bit complicated to set up, it is not inconceivable that he could end up as the villain Justice League. We ought to get a clearer picture once Man of Steel is released.

Justice League is tentatively schedule for 2015, the same year that Marvel's The Avengers 2 will come out.
