16 dogs killed and thrown in stream in western Turkey

Sixteen dead dogs were found in a stream under a bridge in Manisa's Akhisar district on Monday, sparking outrage among local animal lovers.

People of the neighborhood who noticed the 16 dead dogs lying under the bridge, located five kilometers from the Akhisar district's center, notified municipal officials about the gruesome scene on Monday. An initial inspection at the scene revealed that the dogs were killed and thrown into the stream under the bridge.

Akhisar Animal Protection Organization members expressed outrage at the incident.

An investigation into the incident has been launched.
