"Terminator: Genesis" Updates

"Terminator: Genesis" the first new film in a stand-alone trilogy, has finalized its main cast:

Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise his role as a futuristic, weaponized  'cyborg', "Game Of Thrones" star  Emilia Clarke as freedom fighter 'Sarah Connor', and Jason Clarke ("Zero Dark Thirty") as 'John Connor', for director Alan Taylor ("Thor: The Dark World").

The new film will be released by Paramount June 26, 2015.

"The Terminator" released in 1984, was inspired by themes and premises by science fiction author Harlan Ellison, then scripted by Gale Anne Hurd and James Cameron, with direction by Cameron.

Arnold Schwarzenegger played the 'Terminator', a 'cyborg' sent back in time from the year 2029 to 1984 to kill 'Sarah Connor' (Linda Hamilton). 

'Kyle Reese' (Michael Biehn), a soldier from the future, is sent back in time to protect Sarah, so that her unborn son could lead the future resistance forces.

"Donnie Brasco" Director Rooting For "The Day Of The Triffids"

According to reports, Mike Newell ("Donnie Brasco") will direct a new feature based on the science-fiction classic "The Day Of The Triffids" by author John Wyndham:

The original 1951 post-apocalyptic novel about a plague of blindness which befalls the entire world, allowing the rise of an aggressive species of plant, has been previously adapted into a 1962 feature, three radio drama series in 1957, 1968 and 2008, and two TV series in 1981 and 2009.

"...'Bill Masen' is a biologist who has made his living working with 'triffids' – tall plants capable of aggressive and seemingly intelligent behaviour. 

"They are able to move about by 'walking' on their roots, appear to communicate with each other, and possess a deadly whip-like poisonous sting that enables them to kill their victims and feed on their bodies.

"Masen developed a theory that the triffids were bio-engineered in the Ussr and then accidentally released into the wild when a plane smuggling their seeds was shot down. »

"Arrow" - 'Deathstroke' Revealed

Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight"

Although writer/director Quentin Tarantino has halted further development of his Old West screenplay "The Hateful Eight", designed to be a 70-millimeter Western epic, certain story details from the script have now leaked online:

"...the script is an ensemble Western, with the story broken into the chapters 'Last Stage to Red Rock', 'Son of A Gun', 'Minnie’s', 'The Four Pasengers' and 'Black Night, White Hell'. There are parts for Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz. Jackson and Madsen would play bounty hunters returning 'human plunder' to a town called 'Red Rock' in exchange for hefty rewards.

Spielberg's New 'Alien' TV Pilot

Amblin TV ("Falling Skies") will co-produce with ABC Studios a TV pilot for an 'alien' drama series titled "The Visitors", based on author Ray Bradbury's short story "Zero Hour", that was previously adapted by EC's "Weird Fantasy" comics in the 1950's:

"...'The Visitors' chronicles the race against the clock to defeat an unseen alien enemy out to destroy the world using our most precious resource (children) against us..."

Executive producers are Amblin’s Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey and Steven Spielberg.

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier"- Hail 'Hydra' ?

According to new reports, several 'good guy' characters in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", could be sleeper agents of 'Hydra', a terrorist organization in Marvel Comics, referencing the mythical 'Lernaean Hydra':

"Hail, Hydra! Immortal Hydra! We shall never be destroyed! Cut off a limb, and two more shall take its place! We serve none but the Master—as the world shall soon serve us! Hail Hydra!"

The organization first appeared in "Strange Tales" #135, headed by businessman 'Arnold Brown', who was killed as 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' tried to crush the organization. It soon returned funded by 'Baron Wolfgang von Strucker', with the support of  Third Reich super-villain the 'Red Skull'.

Possible Hydra agents in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" could include Robert Redford's character 'Alexander Pierce'.

Maximiliano Hernández's character 'Jasper Sitwell'.

Garry Shandling's character 'Senator Stern'.

'Deathlok' Gears Up For "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D."

A Marvel Comics character, created before 'Terminator' and 'RoboCop' will appear on "Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.":

'Deathlok' (the 'Demolisher') celebrating his 40th anniversary in Marvel Comics will appear on a new episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." premiering on ABC Tuesday, February 4, 2014.

"...transformed into the 'cybernetic' solider against his will, 'Mike Peterson' (August Richards) must struggle to find the man in the machine.

"With a high-tech eye that allows him to see through walls, super strength and increased speed courtesy of a cybernetic leg, will 'Deathlok' fight alongside the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or against them?..."

Deathlok debuted in Marvel Comics' "Astonishing Tales" #25 (Aug. 1974), created by Rich Buckler and Doug Moench.

Cybernetic enhancements grant him superhuman speed, strength, durability and reflexes, with the ability to repair bodily damage and track multiple objects.

According to reports, the character 'Lady Sif' (Jaimie Alexander) will appear in an episode of "Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.", to search for the super-villain 'Asgardian' 'Lorelei', played by actress Elena Satine ("Magic City"):

Created by writer/illustrator Walt Simonson, debuting in Marvel Comics' "Thor" #337 (November 1983), 'Lorelei' is the sister of 'Amora', aka 'The Enchantress'.

"...in the story arc, Lorelei agrees to help 'Loki' trick Sif, the lover of 'Thor' into getting jealous, so Loki turns into 'Thor' and the two kiss.

Gal Gadot Will Star In "Justice League"

Sneak Peek footage of actress Gal Gadot revealing she has signed a 3-picture deal to play 'Diana Prince' aka 'Wonder Woman' for director Zack Snyder's upcoming "Man Of Steel" sequel, a "Wonder Woman" stand-alone feature and a "Justice League" film:

At the age of 19, Gadot joined and served for two years as a soldier in the 'Israel Defense Forces', training as a motorcycle rider and weapons handler.

Gadot continues as spokeperson for fashion clothiers "Castro", as well as leading international campaigns for "Captain Morgan" rum, and the "Vine Vera" skincare ranges.

In 2008, Gadot played the lead in the Israeli drama "Bubot" ("Dolls"), followed by her work as 'Giselle' in the feature "Fast Five", performing her own stunts.

In 2010, Gadot had a role in the action-adventure "Knight and Day", followed by a part in "Date Night".

Then Gadot reprised her role as Giselle in "Fast & Furious 6".
