Curriculum

The Business Immersion Program is designed to give students a comprehensive overview of the terms, tools, and skills they need to be successful in the business world. Students learn business basics through stimulating presentations, engaging class discussions, and hands-on group exercises. Course topics include ethics, communications, finance, marketing, international business, economics, strategy, and leadership.

Each week, students participate in career workshops, where they develop valuable professional skills in areas such as resume writing, interview techniques, and job search strategies.

Students also have the ability to apply what they learn through BIP’s unique externship opportunities. During the course of the four-week program, students participate in two, two-day externships, where they gain a firsthand look at the professional world through some of D.C.’s top organizations.

Program Schedule

BIP is a full-time program, and students attend classes five days a week for four weeks. Students are also expected to spend time outside of class collaborating with study groups, completing homework assignments, and working on group projects.

A typical day includes class sessions and coursework in the morning and afternoon, followed by professional development workshops, presentations, and networking events in the evening.

The 2015 dates for the Business Immersion Program are tentatively set for July 6-31, 2015.
