Heatwave Situation for Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday (3 days starting 15/03/2015)

Small areas of low heatwave conditions are present in northern parts of Northern Territory, northern parts of Western Australia and about the northern border region of SA/WA.

Heatwave Situation for Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday (3 days starting 16/03/2015)

No major changes in area or intensity apart from low heat have conditions developing over parts of central and northwest QLD.

Pilot Heatwave Forecast is a Bureau of Meteorology product that shows the location of heatwaves, severe heatwaves and extreme heatwaves for the last two days and the next four days. It uses some analysis Numerical Weather Prediction model data, not the Official Forecast data.

Please refer to official Bureau of Meteorology products for information on how hot each day and night will be during the three day period.

This product is a pilot version that utilises model forecast data and is supplied for evaluation purposes, and that service interruptions are possible.

Heatwave Forecasts

Heatwave Situation for Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday (3 days starting 17/03/2015)

Low intensity heatwave conditions extend across the central and western parts of Queensland into southeast QLD. Severe heatwave conditions develop about the northern interior of WA and low heatwave develops in border region of NT/SA.

Heatwave Situation for Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday (3 days starting 18/03/2015)

Widespread low intensity heatwave conditions extend from far northeast NSW through Queensland and NT's Top End. Low intensity heatwave also extending down the NT/WA border. Areas of severe heatwave conditions are forecast for far northeast NSW, SE Queensland, NT's Arnhem District and the Northern Interior District of WA.

Heatwave Situation for Thursday, Friday, & Saturday (3 days starting 19/03/2015)

No significant change in areas or intensity.

Heatwave Situation for Friday, Saturday, & Sunday (3 days starting 20/03/2015)

Some contraction of low intensity heatwave conditions in QLD, now confined to the central and northwestern areas only.Extreme heatwave conditions are forecast for the Arnhem District of the NT. Areas of low heatwave conditions across northern parts of WA.

Heatwave Situation for Saturday, Sunday, & Monday (3 days starting 21/03/2015)

Further contraction of low heatwave conditions. Only small patches of low heatwave present in central and northwest Queensland, the Top End and in northern parts of WA.
