US Air Force cargo plane crashes in Afghanistan

A US Air Force MC-130P transport plane has crashed in a remote region of Afghanistan, injuring all eight crew members on board.
Its mission at the time is not being revealed.
The airplane is used for missions including refueling, leaflet and bundle drops, and transporting special forces.
"None of the injuries were considered life threatening," said Major Brad Lowell, a spokesman for US Central Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. He added that seven of the injured were able to walk after the crash.
Major Lowell said the injured were taken to a medical facility in the region around Afghanistan, although he declined to specify exactly where.
The cause of the crash is not known, although it does not appear to be the result of hostile fire.
The names of the crew are being withheld until relatives of the crew are notified.
