A trough is dragging hot northerlies across SA, VIC and NSW, causing fire danger to spike. A front is generating showers and a cold change over TAS and VIC, falling as snow about the highlands tonight. A trough over WA is bringing showers and potentially severe thunderstorms. More Synoptic information
Patchy cloud spreading across the far south of NSW near a trough is not bringing any rain. Hot northerly winds are filtering over much of the state ahead of this trough. Skies are generally clear elsewhere due to a ridge of high pressure and low moisture levels.
