A powerful performance by hall of fame inductee Tina Arena proved the show-stopper of the ARIA awards, which were dominated by rockers Tame Impala and also honoured songstress Courtney Barnett.
Perth band Tame Impala picked up five awards at the ceremony in Sydney for their third album Currents, while Barnett won the best female award, along with breakthrough artist and independent release.
